Quality Affordable Print and E-book Self-Publishing
For my first self published book, I chose one of those big name Print On Demand publishers...the ones you see in Google ads on every author site and blog around. Big mistake - the service was extremely expensive, unprofessional and very slow.
For my second book, I began to research POD publishers even before the second draft was done. The end result was RealTime Publishing. Richard O'Brien is the owner operator. Have a question? A bit confused about the submission process? No problem - Richie replies same day...every time. There are no underpaid employees working offshore who don't care about you or your project...you hear straight from Mr. O'Brien. Try and contact the owner of one of those Big Names!
RealTime is a full service publisher. When you are happy with your manuscript, just e-mail it to Richie and forget about it. No uploading to a website...no formatting problems...no files refused for reasons you don't understand. In a few days it is returned in a PDF for your review (some projects may take longer). There are no cheap-looking book cover templates at RealTime. Describe what you want and wait for the cover of your dreams to come back in a PDF file for your review. You might be thinking that a smaller publisher couldn't possibly measure up to the Big Names...think again.
Here are the facts:
Big Name print publishing package, including template cover: $500-$1500. RealTime print package including custom cover: $345.00.
But the Big Names produce a better quality book, right? Wrong! RealTime Publishing uses the same printer as the big names, Lightning Source. My RealTime book looks better than my first.
But the Big Names have better distribution, right? Wrong again. My RealTime book is available at the same bookstore websites around the world as my first book through Ingram and Baker&Taylor distribution.
But the Big Names must pay better royalties than the small timer, right? Absolutely wrong! If I sell a book at Amazon.com, RealTime pays me 15% royalties. With my Big Name book, I receive only 10%.
You might be thinking that a one-man company like RealTime must be slow. Not so. I e-mailed my final manuscript in a Word file on Oct. 25, 2009 and the completed book was available for sale on Amazon.com on Nov.18, 2009. A few days later it was everywhere else, like Barnes & Noble, Powell's Books and many more. My copies arrived at my door on November 25th.
Normal turnaround time for the Big Names is three to six months! Some will charge extra for an expedited service.
RealTime also offers full e-book publishing with more than 15 e-book formats, including Kindle, and worldwide distribution through The E-book Sale Publishing.
I highly recommend the professional service at RealTime Publishing. Richie knows how to take the hassles and headaches out of the publishing process. For a great quality book at affordable prices there is no other choice for my next book.
